Biography
Non-Executive Director, Chartered Accountant & Company Secretary, FDI Start-up expert
I help businesses (particularly those with foreign owners) get established, and navigate their way around the Irish taxation system. I have particular experience in trading activities outside Ireland.
Business start-ups usually require an initial period of intensive day to day management and I take a very ‘hands on’ role. Once the business is established the owners may wish to retain my involvement, but as a non-executive director.
Experienced in leading start-ups for multinational subsidiaries seeking to manage foreign trading from Ireland. Particular expertise in ensuring that such companies pay Irish tax at the 12.5% rate and do not become exposed to paying higher taxes, either in Ireland or in other trading jurisdictions. Knowledge of VAT rules for foreign trading. Direct involvement in trading procedures with ‘2nd world’ countries and ex-Soviet Union countries.
Chartered Accountant (KPMG trained) with previous experience of sales, operations, logistics & shipping, people management, company secretarial as well as financial control and reporting.
Diploma in Corporate Governance from UCD, with experience of board reporting.
